Recently, we had the opportunity to share the findings of the Universal Basic Neighborhood (UBN) Project with Crescent Hill residents during a community report back event. This project, led by the University of Louisville’s Environment Institute, evaluates how neighborhood conditions support or challenge health and well-being. The research reviewed factors such as housing stability, environmental quality, transportation access, and social connectedness to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. At the event, we presented key findings from our assessment of Crescent Hill.
The neighborhood excels in areas such as park access, alternative transportation use, and community safety, providing a strong foundation for health and well-being. Residents also discussed challenges such as housing affordability and economic diversity, which remain important areas for future planning and investment. The conversation allowed for meaningful dialogue about how to leverage the neighborhood’s existing strengths while addressing areas that could benefit from targeted improvements. We greatly appreciate the community’s engagement and insights, which are essential in shaping next steps.
If you were unable to attend, the presentation materials and final deliverables from this phase of the project are available online at the UofL UBN webpage: https://louisville.edu/
