We are ready for the change of seasons in Crescent Hill, which means holiday events are just around the corner.
Get ready to shop for a cause! The PD House Foundation will once again participate in Just Creations Holiday Shopping program ~ Sunday, Dec 1- Friday, Dec 6. Shop at this locally-owned fair trade store and mention the Peterson Dumesnil House when checking out so that a percentage of your sale will go to the Foundation. Online sales are eligible as well! Just Creations is packed with unique items from coffee and chocolate, to jewelry, ornaments and handmade nativity sets. Support Fair Trade, a locally owned business, and one of Louisville’s most beloved historic homes all in one trip!
Speaking of holiday shopping, if you know someone who loves the PD House, we have two ideas for you. Visit our website to purchase a wooden ornament featuring local artist Bri Bowers’ illustration of the House or pick up a set of beautiful PD House notecards featuring photos by John Nation.
Letters to Santa welcome! The 40206 North Pole mailbox is now located on the front porch of the House. Children can drop off their letters to Santa from now until Christmas ~ no stamp necessary! This is a great photo opportunity, and don’t forget to tag us if you post.
Speaking of the front porch, we’d like to invite you to consider making an end-of-year gift to the Foundation. For over a century, the front porch has served as the heart of the House and a gathering place for the community. As one of the home’s most utilized features and after 100+ years of welcomed usage by the community, the porch needs masonry repair work that will cost upwards of $18,000. Please consider showing some love to this beloved historic treasure. Any donation will help preserve the House and estate for future generations to enjoy.
Thank you so much for your continued support of this 155-year-old beloved historic treasure!
