Hello Neighbors!
If your experience was anything like mine, this new year certainly delt us several challenging rounds of snow, ice and germs. Crescent Hill is known for being an activist community, however, and the sidewalks got shoveled, water leaks were fixed, and homemade soups were delivered, thanks to caring friends and neighbors. Thank you for looking out for one another in our times of need!
Now it appears winter may finally be behind us and we have several fun spring and summer activities to look forward to. Please review information in the newsletter about how you can get involved with the Easter Egg Hunt and Fourth of July Festival. Additionally, plans are underway to revive the Frankfort Avenue Trolley Hop! If you have and idea for creating a new community event or reviving something old (did someone say movies on the Peterson-Dumesnil House lawn?), we welcome your assistance and expertise.
My time with the Universal Basic Neighborhood research project is coming to an end, but I learned so much about the values of the people in Crescent Hill and have a much greater sense of the place my family and I call home. Now that the weather is nicer, I encourage everyone to walk down a street you may never have been down before and say “hello” to those you pass on the sidewalk. We will continue to be a healthy neighborhood by being an active and inclusive community and I hope that you will join us in the next Crescent Hill gathering.
Take care!
