We are ready for the change of seasons in Crescent Hill, which means fall events and the holidays are just around the corner.

To close out our free Concert Under the Cupola Series, we are hosting the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra on Sunday, September 29 at 6:30pm. If the weather cooperates, the performers will be set up in the garden area, so attendees are welcome to sit on the lawn or the front porch. Bring a chair, a snack or beverage, and enjoy some free live music with your neighbors!

Be on the lookout for our week of the 2024 Holiday Shopping Nights at Just Creations, 2722 Frankfort Avenue. For one week, if you mention the Peterson Dumesnil House when checking out a percentage of the sale will be donated to the PD House Foundation. Online purchases at shop.justcreations.org also qualify by leaving a note in the comment section at checkout. This is a great chance to get holiday gifts and support Crescent Hill’s fair-trade store AND historic home at the same time!

Speaking of holiday shopping, if you’re an early shopper and you want to check someone off your list, we have two ideas for you. Visit our website to purchase the wooden ornaments featuring Bri Bowers illustration of the House, or the three different sets of beautiful notecards featuring photos by John Nation

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who supported the PD House Foundation during Give for Good Louisville. The funds raised will go towards the masonry repair and preservation work needed for the beloved front porch of the House. After 100+ years of usage, the front porch needs some care and maintenance so that future generations can make memories there just as we have. If you feel moved to contribute to this project, which is estimated to cost $18,000, we welcome donations through our website. The House is cherished by the community, and we need the community’s help to ensure critical upkeep continues so it’s preserved in all its beauty.

Thank you so much for your continued support of this 155-year-old beloved historic treasure!
